Recently, South Western Railways decided to ease the traffic problem of Bangalore citizen’s by sending out a train from Majestic to Whitefield between 8:45 am and 9:30 am. While this would lightly ease off the hassles of daily travelers across the city, here’s some details of the plan.
BMRCL has already started demolishing properties to make way for the Metro line from Byappanahalli to Whitefield.Metro between Byappanahalli and Whitefield is set to start from the second quarter of 2017. Rs. 900 crore worth land has been purchased for the same. The BMRCL has hovered multiple tenders to build six stations from Jyothipura to Visweswaraya Industrial Area. The metro line from Byappanahalli to Whitefield and Silk Board to KR Puram, which has been proposed under Phase II A, will also be built in the area soon.
The metro stations are planned to come up at following locations: Jyothipura , KR Puram , Mahadevpura, Garudacharpalya, Doddanekundi Industrial Area, Visweswaraya Industrial Area, Kundalahalli, Vaidehi Hospital, Satya Sai Hospital, ITPL area, Kadugodi Area, Ujwala Vidyalaya and Whitefield.
As construction has begun from Byappanahalli end and the other from ITPL the work is expected to be completed soon. As per the comment by BMRCL official they have set a deadline of 2020 for completion of phase II project. Also BMRCL in compliance with the agreement is all set to widen the roads between these corridors.
The residents ofEast Bangalore however are giving a mixed response on the same. Two forums, namely Whitefield and Whitefield Area Commerce and Industries Association (WACIA) have expressed their doubt about transition time and the execution of this project.
WACIA has also requested extension of suburban rails for easy traffic flow although there have been some trains that operate between Byappanahalli and Majestic to Whitefield which they observed doesn’t help as much.
According to recent observation there has been tremendous rise of Whitefield as an area with immense corporate presence. Due to this corporate crowd, demand for residential properties in and around the area has also increased. Although Whitefield enjoys aneasygoing feel in most part of the area, roads connecting here have another story.
Residents also feel that the under construction flyover near Outer Ring Road will cutoff the travel duration and decrease the reach time to Whitefield. As the BMRCL finally is prioritizing the freer traffic flow to and fro Whitefield, resident forums seem to have graspimpartial responsibility.
